Specifications include, but are not limited to: AERIAL SAFETY INSPECTION 2.1 Safety inspections shall be in accordance with the latest edition of NFPA 1911. 2.2 Testing shall be done annually and also every 5 years for NDT testing. 2.3 The Vendor shall not represent nor be a manufacturer of aerial ladder equipment. 2.4 Vendor shall provide an examination and test report to the City and shall specify the point of inspection and the results of such examinations and test. 2.4.1 This report shall address all areas of NFPA 1911. 2.4.2 The report shall contain all defects found and a recommended course of action concerning each aerial device. 2.5 All test work outlined in NFPA1911, shall be conducted. 2.5.1 The City reserves the option to determine the non-destructive test (NDT) testing technique used. 2.6 The inspectors who conducts the inspections of the units shall be certified SNT-TC-1A Level II in at least magnetic particle inspection, ultrasonic inspection, visualization and liquid penetrant inspection and techniques. 2.7 Inspections shall include: 2.7.1 Complete visual inspection 2.7.2 Operational test/Functional test 2.7.3 Magnetic particle 2.7.4 Ultrasonic test of accessible pins 2.7.5 Liquid penetrant NDT techniques 2.7.6 Hardness test 2.7.7 Aerial twist 2.7.8 Timing 2.7.9 Load 2.7.10 Drift 2.7.11 Turntable bolt torque 2.7.12 Waterway pressure and/or flow tests shall be performed per NFPA 1911. 2.7.12 Hydraulic fluid analysis 2.7.13 Slide monitor 2.7.14 Lubricate all slides, pads and guides 2.8 Each sensor shall be tested and replaced as needed. 3.
