Specifications include, but are not limited to: 7.1. 7.1. Requirements Mesa Unified School District is seeking to enter into a contract with a pizza company(s) to supply precooked, assembled round pizzas (8-cut) to the District’s high schools. Branded pizza will be used for the National School Lunch Program and for a la carte sales during lunchtime and it is the District’s request that submissions outline the program(s) set in place by the vendor to accommodate the school lunch requirements. It is the District’s preference to offer a branded pizza to the students. The District’s Food & Nutrition Department reserves the right to choose a pizza vendor(s) based on student taste preferences, nutritional specifications and overall cost of the program. Vendor(s) must be able to make direct deliveries on an “as needed” basis to all District locations listed below. The District will not accept bids which stipulate a minimum order or any added delivery charges. The District will not consider bids stipulating “non-firm price” or “price subject to market conditions”. 7.2. 7.2. Pizza Pizza pies shall be delivered to the District’s seven (7) high schools on a daily basis, up to two (2) times daily per site. The District requires the pizza products to be delivered pre-cooked and ready to serve. Pre-cooked pizzas must be delivered in insulated bags/containers at a temperature of at least 140° F and cut into uniform, even slices (8-cut). Bags/containers must remain at the school through the lunch serving time. We are requesting information on Pepperoni, Cheese and Sausage pizza. Specialty pizza available for delivery, i.e., vegetarian, ham/pineapple, bbq chicken, will be considered as well. 7.3. 7.3. Samples The District reserves the right to request samples of this item for student testing prior to the bid being awarded. Samples will be requested during the evaluation phase. Pizza must be delivered at the date, time and address specified in the request. 7.4. 7.4. Estimated Quantities The estimated quantities are based on the unit indicated on the pricing table. This quantity is an estimate for the first year of the bid and does not obligate the District to order more than the District's actual requirements during the period of this agreement as determined by actual needs and availability of appropriate funds. Requirements may exceed the quantities shown and the bidder(s) shall be required to furnish all quantities ordered. Please note that the quantities specified are total estimated quantities per day
