Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Alaska Housing Finance Corporation is seeking quotes for drilling holes thru a series of concrete planters with covers to prevent clogging of drain at 2800 Postal Way, Juneau, AK 99501. The successful bidder shall drill 2” horizontal holes thru a series of concrete planters with covers to prevent clogging of drain. Bids shall include drilling 2” holes at an appropriate angle to provide drainage of sidewalks on the building side of concrete planters. Holes will be drilled at the bottom of the planters, flush with the walkway, to provide maximum drainage. Holes will be drilled at the follow frequency. 1 hole “centered” on planters under 16’ in length. 2 holes “at 1/3 intervals” on planters up to 24’ in length “i.e., at 8’ and 16’ on a 24’ planter”. 3 holes on planters over 24’ in length “at 1/4 intervals”. Holes that align within 12” of a canopy support or roof drain downspout shall be moved to achieve an 18” spacing as practicable and appropriate to maintain compliance with contract terms. Intended drilling locations will be marked with a removable means 24 hrs. before drilling is to begin and approved by local staff. Drain covers shall allow drainage to the bottom of the drain hole and not present any tripping hazards. Successful bidder is responsible for minimizing dust by use of water or other means. Any changes needed to provide adequate drainage will be addressed through the change order process. Replacement or repair of concrete is not anticipated; repairs to these systems and components will be addressed through the change order process. Chipping or cracking of concrete caused by successful bidder is the responsibility of the successful bidder. Successful bidder responsible for all costs associated with completion of the contract, to include but not limited to permits, materials, labor, disposal and complete installation. Work is to completed by 6/1/2024 and all contractor invoices processed by 6/15/2024.
