Specifications include, but are not limited to: The County seeks to contract with qualified vendors to provide services for On-Call residential fiber drop services as part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021 for broadband expansion. Clackamas Broadband eXchange (CBX) is looking for qualified local outside plant construction companies that can perform all or part of outside fiber optic cable construction to residential sites to enhance broadband speeds. Attached is a list of construction activities that CBX is looking for vendors to complete. CBX will provide most of the construction materials including but not limited to: fiber cable, conduit, vaults, splice cases, splice trays, splitters, strand, etc. CBX will perform any utility pole make-ready (if needed). The selected vendor, when presented with a new fiber drop to a home, shall be able to have a crew on-site within 48 hours to start the new fiber drop and work continuously until drop is complete (within regular business hours). All flagging is the responsibility of the vendor. The service area includes all of Clackamas County and may include areas in public right-of-ways, medians, parks, easements, etc. Multiple contracts may be awarded as a result of this RFQ. If multiple contracts are awarded, the number of contracts awarded will be the sole determination of the County based on need.
