Specifications include, but are not limited to: The contractor shall provide labor and equipment for various masonry, asphalt and related sitework projects at various locations within the Riverhead CSD on an “as needed” basis. Upon the request of the director of Facilities, the contractor shall provide a price quote/proposal for the required work, which shall include the estimated labor hours at the contracted rates, a materials list including cost plus mark-up, sub-contractor quotes if applicable and equipment rental quotes if applicable. Sitework shall include, but not limited to earthwork, landscaping, grading, excavation, land clearing, paving, curbs and walkways. The quoted price shall be for the hourly labor rate per job classification. Grading, excavation, land clearing bid price shall include all labor, equipment, including backhoes, dump trucks, etc., required to complete the required work. All work sites shall be restored to the original condition. The price quoted for Asphalt pavement replacement shall be per ton for contractor to saw-cut and remove existing pavement and replace asphalt courses that conform to the existing grade and thickness of the adjacent pavement in areas as indicated by school district personnel. All work under this item to conform with current NYS DOT Standard Specifications. The price shall include all labor, equipment, materials and incidentals necessary to complete the required work. Masonry shall include but not limited to brick and block work, concrete sidewalks, curbs and foundations. Quoted price shall be for the hourly labor rate per job classification. In addition, cement concrete flatwork shall be quoted at a per square foot rate, for the contractor to furnish and install a four inch (4”0) thick concrete flatwork at locations as indicated by school district personnel. All concrete placed shall be supplied by a NYS DOT certified transit mix company; concrete mixing and placement shall minimally conform to ASTM C94. Concrete shall develop a compressive strength of not less than 4,000 psi in twenty-eight (28) days. Contractor may also be asked to saw-cut and remove existing concrete under this item. Traverse Construction Joints shall extend to the full depth of the slab and shall be spaced twenty to twenty-five (20-25) feet apart. The edges of these joints shall be finished with an edging tool having a ¼” radius. The cut or formed joints shall extend slightly below the pavement surface of the adjacent pavement and shall be spaced twenty feet. The concrete shall be finished to produce a smooth surface and then lightly broomed to a uniform texture. The edges of all flatwork slabs shall be tooled. Unless otherwise specified, the concrete surface shall be scored and tooled at intervals of five feet. Pre-molded resilient joint filler shall be installed at all joints between flatwork and curb, pavement, building, etc. Price shall include all labor, equipment, supplies, materials and incidentals necessary to complete the work.
