This RFP is to replace our current 2004 Peirce rescue body style Hazmat response truck. The replacement will be a 44’ custom made race hauler style trailer pulled by a class 8 tractor. The mobile trailer will be used by the Baytown Fire Department Regional Type 1 Haz-Mat personnel for response to emergency incidents involving all types of transportation emergencies including, but not limited to, chemical spills, flammable gas/liquid releases, biological/terroristic threats, and radiological emergencies. The tractor trailer will be used as part of a 13-county regional hazmat response. The trailer will have 3 distinct compartments plus underbelly storage ability. The first section will have a command/office area in the nose section, above the kingpin. This command area will have opposing slide outs that can accommodate computer work areas, IT rack, and centralized control of the functions of the trailer. The second compartment will be used for main entry & exit, along with countertops, storage cabinets and a small galley area. The third compartment with allow for more cabinet and counter top storage, SCBA cabinet, a 48-inch fume-hood, PPE donning/doffing area along with storage space to accommodate a 1,900lb 6-person UTV. The City of Baytown is accepting responses for a Tractor and Trailer. Respondents can supply their response as follows: • Trailer Only • Tractor/Trailer Combination A. Day cab configuration with air ride cab, air ride driver and passenger seats. B. Minimum of 450HP diesel engine C. Automatic transmission similar to an Allision 4000 non-PTO transmission D. Install aftermarket driving camera system (provided by the City) E. Maximum wheel base is 200 inches to accommodate parking restrictions F. Set forward front axle is desired for parking restrictions G. Gross combination of weight at 60k pounds H. Cab to rear axle center 113 inches is desired for parking restrictions I. Frame decking on back of cab area to allow for work area J. Aluminum wheels to match trailer similar to Alcoa LvL One wheels K. Power windows, door locks, and mirrors are preferred L. Emergency lighting to match trailer, similar to Whelen Lightheads M. Install RAM mount for City provided MDT laptop
