Specifications include, but are not limited to: The facility is a ‘Child Occupied Facility Built Before 1978’ as defined by the EPA’s Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule (RRP). All requirements are to be followed during this project. Communication will require coordination between the contractor, Shaker Family Center, the City and the building’s occupants. • The procurement of all equipment, parts and materials needed to complete this project per plans and specifications. • The contract will be for nine (9) months. Once actual construction starts, the construction period will be for 14 days. • The successful replacement of one large wood window and two wood doors. Complete with finish trim. • Replace the large wood window which is comprised of six (6) smaller wood windows. Three (3) windows are fixed and three (3) are operable. All replacement windows are to have aluminum clad wood exteriors and white wood interiors. The windows are to have wood 7/8” ogee profile interior grilles and 7/8” putty glaze extruded aluminum exterior grilles that are secured to the insulated glass unit with very high bond tape and aligned with the nonglare spacer to create the realistic look of individual panes. Interior exposed wood surfaces are to be treated with a wood protection formula that protects against the effects of moisture, decay and stains from mold or mildew. The insulated glass units are to be advanced Low E dual insulating glass with argon gas. Tempered glass is to be used for the three (3) single hung windows. Window hardware is to have a factory white finish. Premium half screens with a white frame are to be provided on the single hung windows. The windows must have a limited Lifetime warranty that covers wood deterioration, cracking or peeling in a non-seacoast environment and non-laminated insulated glass. The City prefers Pella Reserve windows which closely match the existing windows. The Traditional Sash Set and Traditional Single Hung styles are pre-approved. Other windows manufacturers will be considered for City approval, however they must meet all of the minimum requirements above. • The large window’s transoms and mullions are to be wrapped with white aluminum coil stock. • Replace the 36” wood door and ¾ sidelights, jamb, threshold, trim and hardware. The door may be wood or metal. The door must be half-light with exterior and interior grilles to closely match the existing. The lower half of the door must be embossed. The lower portion of the ¾ sidelights must be embossed. Procure and install a new exit device with exterior pull trim. • Replace the 40” wood utility door, jamb, threshold, trim and hardware. The door may be wood or metal. The door must be half-light with exterior and interior grilles to closely match the existing. The lower half of the door must be embossed. Procure and install a new exit device with exterior pull trim. • Custom brickmould is to be installed around the exterior perimeter of the window and door openings. City is to approve type, style and color. • All spaces between structural surfaces are to be filled with expanding foam designed for window and door installations. • Flat white interior trim is be installed around the interior of the window and doors to complete the interior installation. • Trim metal installation is to be appropriate and professional in workmanship and appearance...
