The USP is seeking to select partners that present an equitable vision, strategy, and conceptual proposal for mixed-use and a mixed-income development that would integrate with other land uses within the area and thereby create jobs, provide affordable housing, provide community amenities, and align with the City’s climate resiliency and carbon reduction goals. A broader description of these goals includes: ► Deliver effective, compact, and walkable TOD on NHUS's East Lot that promotes a mix of uses and greater density that supports enhanced employment and economic development. ► Prioritize a combination of on-site market-rate and affordable housing that supports various affordability levels. ► Support City and State climate resiliency and sustainability strategies. ► Alignment with the State’s Economic Action Plan (Appendix B). ► Alignment with the New Haven Cultural Equity Plan (Appendix C). ► Further the consistent, systematic, fair, just and impartial treatment of individuals including those who belong to underserved communities that have been denied such treatment or persons otherwise adversely affected by persistent poverty or inequality. ► Connect communities/neighborhoods, people and places, and economic opportunity via physical spaces or amenities available to public. ► Provide a financial return to the USP that reflects the site's value considering the development opportunity, public investments in the NHUS Campus, and achieving the project goals listed above.
