Specifications include, but are not limited to: Appleton Corporation, acting as Facility Manager on behalf of the Connecticut Department of Transportation, Department of Rail, is currently soliciting proposals for Landscape Maintenance services for six (6) rail stations located along the Shore Line East rail corridor. Submission of a proposal must be completed in its entirety. Failure to provide a complete proposal may result in rejection of the proposal. The Facility Manager reserves the right to award a single contract, or multiple contracts, to provide the services specified herein to ensure a comprehensive, efficient and cost effective solution for the State. 1.0 SERVICES- GENERAL 1. Contractor shall service the site, generally, once per week throughout the entire growing season. However, contractor shall mow on an “as needed” basis, allowing for precipitation and grass growth. Length of grass shall be maintained between 3” and 3- 1/2”. If recent rainfall has been sparse and a mowing is not required for a particular week due to slow growth, contractor shall not be penalized. 2. At each service visit, pick up and legally dispose of all trash, litter and debris from the entire Facility to include, but not limited to, turf areas, in and around shrub areas, ground cover beds and planting beds. Parking areas are not included in this Scope. 3. Contractor shall keep all catch basins, storm drain grates and other site water-flow devices clear of grass clippings, leaves, braches, etc. 4. Contractor shall keep all cracks in parking lots, curb lines and sidewalks free from weed growth.
