Specifications include, but are not limited to: Equipment The successful contractor will be responsible for providing all necessary tools, materials, equipment, labor, and experience needed to provide the services specified in this solicitation are to be provided by the contractor and all costs shall be included in the pricing. Materials All materials needed will be the responsibility of the contractor for ordering, final measurements and should be included in the cost provided. Prep Work Required Prior to the installation of the new asphalt or relining the contractor will be responsible for the following prep work as a minimum. Parking bumper removal prior to paving Clean existing asphalt thoroughly Grade and compact existing stone base Spoils removed and hauled off site and disposed of properly Asphalt cuts must be made at roadway entrance and sidewalks to allow for proper transitions and tie-ins Installation After prep work contractor will be responsible for the following. Install 2” of hot mix asphalt (SCDOT Asphalt Type C) on stone base area and tie- in areas (Approx. 535 sq. yards total) Overlay 1.5” of hot mix asphalt (SCDOT Asphalt Type C) (Approx. 600 sq. yards) Finishing Work After asphalt is installed, contractor will be responsible for the following Current parking bumpers will be re-set with rebar pins Any damaged or broken parking bumpers must be replaced with new at contractors’ expense Parking spaces shall be lined in accordance with applicable standards 1 ADA, 16 standard and 1 compact. Dimensions will be 8ft 8in wide and 16ft long Timeline Work shall be carried out during regular business hours (9am-6pm), Mon-Friday, weekends optional with advanced notice to Park Manager subject to approval. If the approved date/time is not met due to weather hazards the contractor will be responsible for making up the services within 24 hours weather permitting and with agreement from Park Staff. Working is to be completed within 45 days from receipt of Purchase Order. To minimize disruptions to the Park and its visitors If the main park road will be blocked for any reason proper flagging will be required. Schedule is to be provided to Park in advance for approval. General Requirements All work will be completed in such a way as to protect existing sidewalks, roads, trees, etc. If any condition exists that the contractor feels will adversely affect the acceptability of his or her work, then the contractor shall notify the SCPRT Representative in writing prior to commencing that portion of the work, stating conditions considered unsatisfactory and recommendations for rectifying the problems. Safety on the job is to be emphasized. Work shall comply with OSHA and other applicable safety regulations. Hazardous areas shall be delineated with hazard tape to prevent visitors from entering areas below work area. If poor weather conditions (rain, extreme cold) prevent the Contractor from working, Contractor shall notify the SCPRT Representative and the timeframe can be extended based on the agreed upon number of days. This must be documented via a change order to the contract. Grounds, shrubbery and gardens shall be adequately protected against damage from work in progress. Contractor shall be responsible for all cleanup and repair of damages caused by work. Quality Assurance Maintain experienced full-time supervisor(s) on Project Site during all times that material removal, installation, and cleanup is in progress. Supervisors shall not be changed during project except for causes beyond the control of the firm, and with prior approval from SCPRT. Exercise extreme care to prevent paint from being spattered on surfaces which are not to be painted. If paint is mistakenly applied to surfaces not to be painted, remove as soon as possible. Method or methods of removing paint from porous surfaces such as concrete, brick, and/or factory finished surfaces shall be approved by SCPRT Representative prior to removal. Housekeeping During and After Work At the end of each work day, contractor shall ensure that the work site is left in a safe and neat condition, and that any job-related debris is packaged and stored until it can be removed. SCPRT is not responsible for tools or contractor owned items stored onsite during work but will provide a location vendor can store items if needed. At completion of project the contractor is responsible for all cleanup of debris and removal of any debris, containers, tools and equipment offsite. Contractor must leave worksite in neat and clean condition, as found at beginning of job. Licenses, Permits, Insurance All costs for required licenses, permits, and insurance shall be borne by the contractor and secured by the contractor. Regulations and Standards The work shall comply with all laws, ordinances and regulations of all legally constituted authorities having jurisdiction over any part of this work. These requirements supplement the specifications and shall take precedence in case of conflict. All work shall be performed and completed in a thorough workmanlike and professional manner in accordance with best modern practices, regardless of any omissions from the attached specifications and/or drawings.
