Clean all types of drains, pipes, culverts, and drainage structures. These include median barrier wall box inlets, drop box inlets, catch basins, bridge end drainage box inlets, curb box inlets, dry wells, culvert pipe, storm sewer pipe, entrance pipe, and any other drainage structure types that have removable grates. Remove (and replace) the grate for access and vacuum the throat and chamber area to remove all sediment, drift, and other debris. (During this operation, the inspector should note whether the drain is properly functioning or not. If it is not functioning properly, the inspector should note the location and forward the information to the Chief District Engineer or his representative to perform additional pipe cleaning or other work).
