The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Florida Forest Service is seeking sealed bids for the sale of timber. This sale is a 143-acre logger select second thinning on Jennings State Forest, Clay County Florida (see attached maps). Jennings State Forest is a SFI certified forest (SFI certification number: NSF-SFI-FM-CO245755). This sale is comprised of a mix of slash and longleaf pine. Timber to be removed includes all pulpwood, and diseased, forked, suppressed trees and all 9" and 10" chip-and-saw class, and a portion of 11" chip-and-saw trees to reach a desired residual basal area of between 55-60 square feet/acre. Estimated timber volumes are 2,298 tons of pulpwood and 2,793 tons of chip-and-saw. Existing skid trails and loading decks must be utilized to the fullest extent possible. The Forster-In-Charge must approve of any additional skid trails or loading decks prior to their creation. Sale boundaries include roads, wetlands, fire lines, obvious timber type changes or blue paint. This is a twelve (12) month contract.
