Specifications include, but are not limited to: Harris County intends to sell scrap iron, steel, tin, nonferrous scrap and stainless steel to the highest bidder. Most of the scrap metal will be delivered to the vendor in Harris County vehicles, however, some departments with large volumes will require vendor-supplied scrap metal bins staged on County property and will require either regularly scheduled pickups or pickups within three (3) days of calling the vendor. There will be no container rental charges if bins are filled and called for pickup at least once per month. If the using department does not call for a pickup of a filled vendor-supplied bin (full) during a calendar month; the vendor may charge a rental fee on each occurrence for the bin based on the price bid on the Pricing/Delivery Information sheet(s). Vendor should have certified truck weigh scales that are in good working order and calibrated once a year by a third party inspector. Vendor should also have forklifts to move 4 ft. by 6 ft. bins as needed by Harris County. Harris County reserve the right to request copies of certification to ensure that the scales use was inspect and are accurate. For purposes of this bid, "full" shall equal 3/4 from the top of the bin as minimum full. Vendor shall provide various sizes of bins as needed, including but not limited to, 20 ft., 30 ft., 40 ft. roll offs and 4 ft. by 6 ft. bins and the appropriate equipment required to deliver and pick up bins for Harris County. Vendor shall be responsible for sorting all scrap metal materials for recycling
