Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Mobilization shall be included in total bid. 2. It will be the responsibility of the Contractor to obtain any necessary permits, and all permit inspections will be scheduled by the Contractor. 3. All permits and inspections will be reimbursed at actual cost to the Contractor. 4. Contractors must carry appropriate and valid Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) agricultural herbicide license for aquatic and terrestrial environments. 5. It is anticipated that 100% of the work will be performed during the Contractor’s normal business hours. 6. The Contractor will contact the Project Manager two (2) weeks prior to beginning work at each site. Requirements for further notifications and onsite meetings will be at the discretion of the Project Manager. The County expects this to be between ten (10) and twenty (20) hours as outlined in specific site plans. 7. Contractor shall manage vegetation as outlined on the site-specific project description for each site. a. Mowing i. Certain sites will require mowing of the entire area, as specified in site-specific plans. ii. Certain sites will require selective mowing that protects plantings and desirable native vegetation as shown in site-specific plans. b. Weed eating i. Mowing or cutting of vegetation with a hand-held weed eater (weed whacker, trimmer) to treat areas where a mower cannot reach. Weed eating must be done in a manner that does not damage plantings, desirable vegetation, or infrastructure such as fences. c. Herbicide application to treat noxious weeds. Herbicide application must be performed by a licensed applicator in accordance with WSDA rules, applicablepermits, and the product label. d. Sapling trimming/cutting. i. Cutting of saplings less than 1.5 inches diameter at breast height (dbh), typically 4.5 feet above the ground, within designated areas. See specific plans for details. ii. Trimming of tree limbs less than 1.5 inches diameter along vertical plan. See specific plans for details. iii. This treatment may be done with mowing equipment where feasible.
