Design/build streetscape project on College Street, specifically between 7th Avenue and 8th Avenue, adjacent to Stadium Park Plaza. The objective is to integrate this section of College Street with the existing downtown streetscape. The scope of work includes sidewalk reconstruction, replacement of curbs and gutters, reconstruction of handicap ramps and a drive entrance, along with landscaping with tree planting. Contractors are required to manage any utility conflicts and to reconstruct the sidewalk, curb, and gutter within the specified area, as shown in the attached image. Location of new curb and gutter not to change from existing location. The entrance from 8th Avenue will be restored to its current design and the curb and gutter along College Street will conform to BGKY standard curb and gutter specifications. Additionally, a storm structure may require repairs within the project area, but no new storm is proposed. The design should incorporate 3-4 landscape areas between the curb and the sidewalk's front edge, each with a maximum width of four (4) feet. These areas should include an 18-inch root barrier panel and incorporate at least six (6) Prunus x yedoensis (Yoshino cherry) trees with a 1 ¾” – 2” caliper throughout the landscape areas. Treegator bags should be placed around the newly planted trees. 36” of engineered soil, topped with 3”-5” of river stone, should be used in the landscape areas. The sidewalk must maintain a width of at least six (6) feet wide, with the existing back of the sidewalk location unchanged. A utility strip is only required where landscape areas are present.
