Specifications include, but are not limited to: SITC programing should have an overall focus on Community Engagement, Community Development, Public Safety, and most importantly Community-Based Violence Reduction. 3.2. Below are additional areas of focus that should be incorporated into SITC 2024 programing submissions. All Curriculum should be built to address one of the programmatic areas listed. We encourage submissions to incorporate multiple areas of focus (if possible). 3.3. All programing should be built for the target audience age range of 12 – 18 years old. 3.4. Physical Education & Sports 3.4..1. Curriculum for Physical Education classes can include (but is not limited to) Tennis Classes, Football Camp, Basketball Camp, Swimming Lessons (possibly in partnership with Indy Parks Summer Aquatics), Boxing Camp, Wrestling Camp, Weightlifting/Gym Camp, etc. 3.4..2. Curriculum can also include eSports programs. Any eSports submission must come with an educational component. 3.4..3. Submissions should include emergency plans related to injury or any other emergencies which could arise from the physical activities outlined. 3.4..4. Submissions must include an example of a Parent Participation Wavier to be included at the time of SITC registration. 3.4..5. Submissions which include gear/required materials to participate should be included in the program budget. These include Items that will need to be purchased/ordered prior to the program start date. 3.5. Healthy Cooking & Nutrition 3.5..1. Curriculum for Healthy Cooking & Nutrition classes can include (but are not limited to) Youth Cooking Classes, Family Cooking Classes, Gardening Classes, and other similar offerings. 3.5..2. Submissions should NOT include cooking demos or programming that involves heavy knife utilization, expensive or difficult to source ingredients, common allergens (such as peanuts), alcohol, or other hazardous materials. 3.5..3. Submissions should include a plan to source produce from local MARION COUNTY farmers. (a list can be provided upon request). 3.5..4. Submissions which require cooking materials or ingredients for program participants should be included in the program budget These include Items that will need to be purchased/ordered prior to the program start date. 3.6. Financial Literacy 3.6..1. Curriculum for Financial Literacy can include (but is not limited to) Healthy Budgeting, Debt/Credit Card Management, Checking and Savings 101, How to Set Healthy Financial Goals, How to Build a Savings, Where to Save Your Money, Intro to Investing, etc. 3.6..2. Submissions should include a plan to help youth start a FREE checking and/or savings account by the conclusion of the programing. 3.6..3. Submissions should also include a one (1) or two (2) day wraparound Financial Coaching curriculum for parents and families to promote financial literacy and healthy finances for the whole family...
