Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Engineering Consultant (Consultant) shall assist the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District (CFTOD or DISTRICT) by providing professional engineering services in the design, bidding, permitting, and construction phase services for the process improvements to the condenser water and cooling tower systems associated with the chilled water plant. The improvements will be located at the EPCOT Energy Plant (EEP), 751 Backstage Lane, Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The existing condenser water and cooling tower system includes four (4) cooling towers with associated pumps, valves, piping, and chemical control. Cooling towers 1-3 are original to the construction of the EEP in the 1980’s and are connected via a common condenser water pump sump. In 1989 cooling tower 4 and associated pumps, valves, and piping were added. Upgrades are needed to improve the ability to isolate individual towers for maintenance and flexibility in operation. Refer to Appendix A and B. Requested improvements include: 1. Modify, install, test and commission a chemical treatment system for cooling tower cell 4 to include piping and controls as needed. 2. Design/specify, install, test and commission electronically operated chemical valves for each cooling tower cell to operate in conjunction with the associated cells over tower valve (OTV). 3. Design/specify the repair of structural concrete damage within the basin of cooling tower cell 4. 4. Design/specify a solution using sluice gates to close existing openings between cooling tower cells 3 and 4, construct one (1) larger opening between the cells, and install means of mechanical isolation of new opening. 5. Design/specify, install, test and commission a second condenser water piping header from existing chillers to existing condenser water header to include piping, valves, hangars, and other appurtenances. 6. Design/specify, install, test and commission isolation valves in existing condenser water header. 7. Design/specify, remove existing, install, test and commission new flowmeters for each cooling tower condenser water flow.
