Specifications include, but are not limited to: 2) The Contractor is to restripe all existing roadway markings at existing locations on roadways and as currently marked if compliant with the 2009 Edition of the MUCTD otherwise, the Contractor is to bring the markings up to the current MUCTD standard. 3) All crosswalks shall be striped in accordance with enclosed GDOT Crosswalk Detail. All permanent striping to be thermoplastic. Traffic paint will not be allowed. 4) All work is to comply with current Georgia Department of Transportation “Standard Specifications for Road and Bridges”. Section 652 – Painting Traffic Stripe, Section 653 – Thermoplastic Traffic Strip, 5) The Contractor shall remove and replace any non-ADA compliant sidewalk ramps with ADA compliant ramps with warning detectors at the restriped crosswalks as noted in the Schedule of Items. Refer to GDOT Construction Details A3 and A4 for design of ADA compliant curb ramps and detectable warning surface truncated domes 6) The Contractor is to prepare the areas for installation of the pavement repairs. This includes removal of “cold patch”, lime rock, and existing asphalt, compaction of the existing subgrade, etc. a. Contractor to remove additional pavement a minimum distance of 12 inches on each side of the existing cuts / failed pavement or as directed by the City Engineer, b. Contractor to remove existing lime rock base as needed. c. Contractor to compact the subgrade in the open cut to 98% of the maximum dry density. Contractor is to replace any unsuitable materials. d. Contractor to install a minimum of 8” GAB (crush and run) compacted to 100% of the maximum dry density. e. Contractor to apply bituminous prime to the new base. f. Contractor to install a minimum of 2” of 9.5 mm superpave asphalt pavement level with existing pavement surface. g. No excavation may remain open overnight unless covered with traffic bearing steel plate. 7) The Contractor will be responsible for any traffic control required during the terms of this contract.
