Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH) Bureau of Community Health and Prevention’s Suicide Prevention Program (SPP) is issuing this Request for Responses (RFR) for local crisis call centers delivering 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline services (988 Lifeline or Lifeline) across the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Eligible vendors must be Massachusetts based organizations that have active membership in good standing with the national 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline network and be accredited through a 3rd party accrediting body that meets the national administrator’s standards, such as, the International Council for Helplines or the American Association of Suicidology. The purpose of this funding is to support people experiencing emotional distress, suicidal ideation and/or behavior, and/or crisis. Funded vendors will provide around-the-clock access, every day of the year, free and confidential support to callers who are routed through the three-digit dialing code 988. This procurement is supported by state and federal funding. For state fiscal year 2025 (FY25), DPH is procuring approximately $8.3 million annually. The average annual award will be approximately $1.66 million. DPH anticipates issuing awards to up to five vendors to respond to calls. If available, additional funding may be included to expand services within the scope of the RFR such as, but not limited to, supporting special projects in areas of high need and/or areas with innovative programming
