Contractor shall provide all materials, labor, incidentals, equipment, tools, transportation, and disposal services for the removal and replacement of windows and store front door and window systems on the east and south elevations of the Herndon Building, Springfield, Illinois. Window sizes must be field verified prior to bidding. This is mandatory. Currently there are two window sizes and two different store front door systems. ILSOS requests that the new windows match the windows on the two floors above. Contractor to be installed according to manufacturer’s specifications. All warranty information must be provided within 5 (five) days of installation. Workmanship shall be warrantied for 1 (one) year from final completion. New windows must be fixed, aluminum framed with thermal break/barrier construction. Panes must be Low-E and reflective glass. New windows must be consistent with architecture of the building and the color to match the existing windows on the second and third floors. Contractor is responsible for submitting shop drawings/specifications prior to fabrication and release of any materials for ILSOS review and approval. If plaster work is required, patch damaged or deteriorated plaster areas, cracks, holes, bulges, or gouges in wall surfaces shall be spackled and sanded smooth. Walls are to be painted (paint provided by ILSOS) around the affected area as needed. Contractor is responsible for repairs and damage to the structure during the removal and installation surrounding the windows (plaster, brick, and masonry). The Contractor is responsible to be within compliance of all applicable Building Codes. Work shall be executed in accordance with the project schedule, and applicable codes. Work is to be performed during normal business hours: 7:00AM – 5:00PM, Monday through Friday. Any work done outside of these hours shall not be permitted except as arranged in advance with the Secretary of State’s Office. The Contractor is responsible for the proper removal and disposal of all debris related to their work including, but not limited to, electrical, mechanical, sanitary, soils, rock excavation, packing materials scrap, uninstalled materials and/or environmental waste. Work site must be cleaned and free of tools, materials, and debris at the end of each shift of work. Upon completion of the project, Contractor is required to clean any impacted area to a condition equal or better than original condition including the window’s inside and outside glass. ILSOS will provide a secure location for storage of materials and equipment. Contractor is 100% responsible for securing their working materials and equipment. During the course of this project, Contractor is required to implement safety measures to protect building occupants and visitors. Contractor to provide safety barricades, signs, signals, etc. as necessary. Contractor to provide containment around work area to minimize dust and construction contamination to the rest of the building. Contractor shall be solely responsible for risk assessments, managing health and safety issues associated with this project.
