Specifications include, but are not limited to: This City of Salem project is located at the intersection of Commercial St. SE and Ratcliff Dr. The project will infill approximatley 800 feet of missing sidewalk along the east side of Commercial St., north of the intersection. Sidewalk in this section was lacking due to topographic constraints and will require retaining walls to complete. Reconstruction of approximately 400 feet of existing sidewalk along the east side of Commercial St., south of the intersection, and the existing right turn lane on the southern approach will be removed. A new signal will be installed at the Commercial St./Ratcliff Dr. intersection and ADA ramps at all four corners will be reconstructed. Roadway widening will be constructed along the south side of Ratcliff Dr., at the eastern approach, to create room for a new left turn refuge. Approximately 195 feet of infill sidewalk on the north side and 195 feet of reconstructed sidewalk on the south side of Ratcliff will be required. A new retaining wall is expected on the north side of Ratcliff Dr. to accommodate the new sidewalk section. Signing, triping, paving, driveway/approach reconstruction, stormwater drainage systems and water quality facilities will also be installed/constructed as needed. Estimated cost of the associated project construction: $3,100,000.
