Specifications include, but are not limited to: Soil Compaction testing with a nuclear gauge - Service Request: Consultant shall respond to a service request within (24) twenty-four hour notice from City. The task shall be performed by the Consultant only, no subcontracting out will be allowed for this task. Consultant’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: A. Perform testing of subgrade compaction for asphalt concrete and concrete street paving B. Complete testing per ASTM D2922 and D3017 Standards and Laboratory testing for soil per ASTM D1557 standards unless exceeded by the City of Palo Alto’s Public Works Standards. C. Verifying sampling and testing procedures are being performed properly and in accordance with applicable testing standards D. Reporting and testing results must be reviewed and approved by an appropriately licensed personnel E. Compensation is based on the following: A. Actual hours spent at the job site(s) per hour, from the time of arrival at the first site to the time leaving the last site (if covering multiple projects); B. Price per each test for labor, equipment, and material for the basic work of maximum density curve per ASTM D1557. C. Hourly rate shall include the following travel time to and from City work sites, performing testing and inspections, material, equipment [including all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)], vehicles, cellular phones, computers, preparation of field reports, engineering and administrative time, invoicing, and any other miscellaneous costs associated with the work in the City of Palo Alto; and D. City will allow a two-hour (2) minimum charge of work per day. If the total inspection time across multiple projects exceeds 2 hours in a day, the minimum charge won’t be applicable. Consultant will only be paid in an increment of quarter-hour (1/4) for actual hours spent at the construction site performing compaction tests if the work is over the two-hour (2-hour) minimum period...
