The St Joseph Emergency Communications Center is the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for Buchanan County, Missouri, and is operated by the St. Joseph Police Department. The primary PSAP is located at 501 Faraon Street. The Buchanan County Ambulance District located at 5010 Frederick Ave serves as a secondary PSAP responsible for the dispatching of all EMS calls. The Police Department is seeking proposals to replace/upgrade the existing 9-1-1 call handling equipment with new modern call handling equipment capable of connection to an ESInet and able to process NG9-1-1 calls which may include voice video and text messages. The proposed solution must be compatible with the required elements for NG9-1-1 services as defined in NENA i3 and available NG9-1-1 standards and as planned for by the current 9-1-1 solutions providers and others.
