All correspondence must be made through the Vendor Portal. Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1.1. The Boyertown Borough has three (3) water storage tanks that require scheduled maintenance over the course of the next 5 years. 1.2. The Brookside and Cannon Hill storage tanks shall be drained of water (by Borough Operations staff), inspected, cleaned on both the interior and exterior surfaces, and returned to service. Borough staff shall be responsible for refilling the tanks. Annual inspections of the exterior of each tank, and biennial inspections of the interior of each tank, will follow after the initial cleanings in 2024. The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, tools, instrumentation, and equipment to satisfactorily complete the work. 1.3. If a chemical agent is required for cleaning the interior of a tank, the chemical must be NSF 60/61 compliant and a product data sheet and SDS must be supplied to the Borough for review prior to use. It is anticipated that simple chlorine solution will be the only chemical required. Rinse water must be properly dechlorinated if discharged from the tank. Product and Safety Data Sheets shall be supplied for any cleaning agent applied to the exterior of a tank, and all rinse water shall be properly contained and disposed of in accordance with the manufacturer’s directions and applicable environmental regulations. 1.4. All work shall be completed in accordance with applicable rules and regulations of the PA Department of Environmental Protection. Applicable safety regulations shall also be the responsibility of the Contractor. 1.5. Each tank included in the contract is briefly identified below: Cannon Hill Tanks – (2) x 1,000,000 gallon ground level, welded steel tanks. Physical location is 40.326266, -75.642114. See attached drawing for reference. Brookview Elevated Storage Tank – 115,000 gallon elevated, welded steel water storage tank. Physical location is 40.347519, -75.657014. See attached drawing for reference. The Contractor shall have the capability to properly furnish the services for the duration of the contract term, and shall have the necessary expertise, personnel, and equipment to complete the work within the time specified. Contractor should be familiar with AWWA M42 Manual of Water Supply Practices “Steel Water Storage Tanks”.
