Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City is soliciting bids for purchase and delivery of Ready-Mix Concrete, Color and Stamp Mix Cement furnished under this contract must be Portland cement, with or without Pozzolanic materials, admixtures, fiber, or color additives. Portland cement must conform to American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) C-150 requirements for Type II, low alkali cement or Portland Pozzolan Cement that conforms to ASTM C-595 low alkali requirements. A. Cement. Portland cement must conform to the requirements of ASTM C-150, Type II, "low-alkali", with fly ash unless otherwise approved by the Engineer. B. Two types of Ready-Mix Concrete, Color and Stamp Mix will be ordered under this contract. Class A concrete will be utilized for reinforced or non-reinforced structures and concrete pavements designated for access by motorized vehicles. Class B concrete may be used for sidewalks, curbs, and gutters as recommended City of Yuma, Standard Specification NO. D-1. C. Pozzolanic materials used in conjunction with concrete furnished under this contract must conform to ASTM C-618 requirements or most recent revision. D. Fine Aggregate must be washed concrete sand of hard, strong, durable, and uncoated particles, and must comply with the requirements of AASHTO Standard Specification M6. Fine aggregate must be subject to approval. The grading must conform to the grading shown in the above-mentioned standard specification. E. Coarse Aggregate must be washed gravel or crushed stone consisting of hard, tough, durable particles, free from adherent coating. It must contain no vegetable matter or soft, friable, thin, or elongated particles in quantities considered deleterious. Aggregate which has been disintegrated or weathered badly under exposure conditions similar to those which will be encountered by the work under consideration will not be used. When crushed stone is used, the crusher must be equipped with a screening system which will entirely separate the dust from the stone and convey it to a separate bin.
