Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall be responsible for performing the following: a) Perform necessary rigging and staging to haul vessel. b) Inspect bottom and hull for defects, excessive corrosion, and/or problems. c) Inspect all fenders and bumpers for damage and/or presence. d) Clean and prepare bottom for painting; from deck down, sand all bare areas to bare metal, and prime as necessary. e) Paint the entire bottom from deck down, using a quality marine type paint, use anti-fouling paint below water line. f) Inspect, clean, lubricate, and adjust all thru-haul fittings and sea cocks. g) Inspect, clean, and check Keel Coolers. Must be pressure checked and confirmed that there are NO LEAKS and NO OVERHEATING. h) Confirm proper operation of all bilge pumps. i) Replace all zincs as needed. j) Inspect propellers, shafts, shaft stuffing boxes, and cutlass bearings. k) Inspect engines, transmissions, steering, generator, and all controls for proper function and operation. l) Prepare Marine Condition and Compliance Survey. m) Any deficiencies or recommendations for additional work shall be reported to the MPA Fleet Manager at 410-633-1052. A written estimate for any additional work shall be submitted to the MPA Fleet Manager for review and approval. No additional work shall be performed unless approved by the MPA Fleet Manager. The allowance for any additional work approved by MPA is $30,000 (see Bid Form Item No. 3).
