Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Coordination: Coordinate pumping times with MnDOT no less than one week prior to intended pumping. No pumping shall be performed without a MnDOT representative present. At least 24-hour confirmation of previously agreed pumping date & time should be given to MnDOT prior to pumping. B. Weekend and Holiday Pumping: Not allowed. C. Pumping: 1. Spring pumping shall be completed between April 15th and May 30th 2. Fall pumping shall be completed between October 1st and November 15th D. Traffic: Minimize interference with adjoining roads, streets, walks, and other adjacent occupied or used facilities during maintenance activities. 1. MN State Law prohibits the use of U-turns in crossovers on the Interstate. a. The contractor should review the site to determine traveling distances. E. Safety: Comply with OSHA requirements and utilize safe operation procedures to protect and prevent workers and the public from exposure to the hazards associated with the pumping process. F. Septic Maintainer Qualifications: An experienced septic tank maintainer business (formerly called pumper) licensed by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency. 2. Seepage Pumping: In accordance with MN Rule 7080.2450. 3. Seepage Disposal: At a permitting wastewater treatment plant(s) J. Products β General 1. Crust agitator a. Machine designed to agitate crust, liquids, and solids into liquid slurry. b. Manufacturers: Crust Buster or equal K. Execution β General 1. Obtain and coordinate maintenance activities with MN DOT contacts. 2. Coordinate with the municipalities regarding all required pertinent requirements. 3. Measure sludge and scum depths in all sewage tanks and lift stations prior to pumping or agitating the tank. 4. Use crust agitator during pumping. Remove all liquids and solids from sewage tanks and lift stations. Spray down inside of tanks with water as needed to remove all sewage. 5. Dispose of sewage. 6. Inspect all systems and fill out Septic Tank Maintenance Reporting Form in itβs entirety. The bid will be per gal (Estimated 63,000 gallons plus or minus).
