The Statewide Head Injury Program (SHIP) provides a range of supports and services specifically for people with traumatic brain injury (TBI). SHIP is the state entity responsible for developing, delivering, and managing services for people with traumatic brain injury. Services include case coordination, individual skills training, community-based case management, residential supports, regional community centers, social & recreational programs, individual companion and independent aides, assistive technology supports, long term vocational support, consultation and training, and information and resources. SHIP recognizes that the only cure for TBI is prevention and sponsors various activities related to that goal. This procurement supports SHIP’s ongoing commitment to that purpose. In addition, SHIP strives to reduce the social and emotional cost of living with brain injury by supporting a statewide information and resource service; increasing public awareness, advocacy & training; providing a variety of peer support opportunities, including support groups; and supporting professional development in the field of brain injury. The successful bidder will be uniquely positioned at a grassroots level to raise awareness statewide about brain injury and maximizing access to services via SHIP, and other public supports and/or agencies. The provider will be expected to disseminate MRC and SHIP information, brochures, and application guidance along with their own materials in outreach and marketing efforts. The successful bidder will conduct SHIP specified data collection, analysis, and related recommendation development. Intensive outreach targeted to specific geographic areas and/or diverse groups may be required. Bidders should inform in their Business Response under (g) the geographic areas of the Commonwealth that Bidder is able to serve. The provider may be asked to assist SHIP with special projects such as targeted training, needs assessments, focus groups, listening sessions, or other joint projects.
