Specifications include, but are not limited to: From July 1st, 2024, the Town of Woodbury will enforce a new permanent Waste Diversion Program with the purpose of providing equitable, environmental, and economic benefits to its residents by encouraging the diversion of recoverable materials and the reduction of solid waste generation. Using a Unit-Based-Bag-Program (UBP), the Town will provide orange trash bags and green food scrap bags through participating retailers to residents. Recyclable material should be separated; residents will collect all food waste in green bags and all other waste in orange bags. Users of the Town’s transfer station will drop bags in their specified containers so that food scraps are diverted from incineration. The Town of Woodbury is requesting proposals from qualified vendors to manufacture and distribute trash and food scrap bags through retailers who wish to participate in the municipalwide Waste Diversion Program.
