Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.4 Traffic Control, Protection, and Safety Contractor shall be responsible for traffic control during the project. Road closures will not be permitted. All work within the roadway shall be conducted under traffic. Twoway traffic shall be maintained at all times. All work zones shall be properly signed and set-up in accordance with the Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), latest edition. On-street parking may be removed by the Contractor to facilitate construction and maintain traffic flow. The Contractor shall notify the Public Works Department 48 hours in advance of proposed parking removal. The Contractor shall obtain, and place "No Parking" signs (cardboard) on the particular street. "No Parking" must be posted a minimum of 48 hours prior to construction. Costs of traffic control are incidental to the Contract. Contractor must maintain any required State of Wisconsin licensure for the services performed. Contractor must at all times observe and comply with all laws, ordinances, and regulations of the federal, state, and local governments. It is the Contractor’s responsibility to keep informed of relevant laws, codes, ordinances, and regulations and any changes to them. Contractor must agree to perform the work safely, ensuring that all proper protective gear, eyewear, etc. is worn while work is completed. Appropriate reflective clothing is required. OSHA safety requirements must be followed at all times while performing work for the City. 3.5 Delivery and Storage of Sealant Materials Storage of equipment and crack sealing material may be available at the City Services Center, 2200 US HWY 51 North. Due to on-site construction activities in 2024, storage requests may not be accommodated during this contract year. Equipment and material storage requests must be submitted (5) business days in advance. Requests must include types of equipment, quantity of material, and storage duration. Storage of equipment and materials may not be feasible during all periods of the contract period. 3.6 Bituminous Street Crack Sealing All cracks and joints, including edge joints for all Priority level streets, are to be sealed according to the following specifications: The cleaning and sealing of cracks must be conducted on the same day. The cleaning of cracks prior to the day of sealing shall not be permitted. The crack sealing shall not be applied unless the ambient air temperature is between 40°F (4°C) and 85°F (29°C).
