Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Alpharetta (City) is requesting proposals from qualified firms to provide pool and fountain maintenance services. Wills Park Pools, Splash Pad, Slide, and Pool Fixed Features Responsibilities include: - Maintenance visits must be scheduled on a regular timetable and at mutually agreeable dates and times. - During the pool season from May 1st – September 30th, maintenance visits will be conducted up to three times a week prior to the pool opening for the day. Depending on the available budget, the City preference for service is Monday, Thursday and Saturday of each week. Site visits should be begin at 7 am to avoid interfering with swim lessons, the pool opening to the public, etc. - During the off-season, Oct 1st – April 30th, the maintenance visits will be once per week. - The contractor’s field employees must wear company uniforms, identification badges and appropriate safety equipment during each site visit. - The contractor’s on-site crew leader must be fluent in English. - Each maintenance visit must include: 1. If city staff is onsite and available, the crew leader must check-in and check-out. 2. Maintenance of the pump systems. 3. Brushing of the pool walls as needed. 4. Water quality, chlorine and other chemical levels in the pools and splash pad must be tested and adjusted according to the industry standard practices. 5. The contractor is responsible for supplying all necessary chemicals, equipment maintenance, and monitoring of the chemical levels. The only exception is carbon dioxide. 6. The pool and fountain maintenance services contractor will monitor carbon dioxide levels but will not be responsible for supplying the carbon dioxide. 7. Verifying that all pool equipment, including but not limited to, diving boards, water slide, water features, etc., is in good working conditions. This task includes cleaning and conducting industry recommended routine maintenance for the equipment. Four City Center Water Features a. Town Green Water Feature o Service water feature twice weekly on a year-round basis. Service to occur at the first of the week and at the end of the week. o Test fountain water and adjust chemicals when necessary. o Maintain pumps and filtration systems, cleaning hair/lint strainer basket, and backwashing sand filter when necessary. o Maintain chemical feed pumps and fill vats when necessary. o Calibrate and adjust chemical controller to ensure proper operation. o Check operation of automatic water leveler. o Check operation of UV light. b. Two Formal Garden Fountains o Service fountains twice weekly on a year-round basis. Service to occur at the first of the week and at the end of the week. o Test fountain water and adjust chemicals when necessary. o No chlorine should be used in these fountains. o Maintain fountain pumps and clean screens/filters when necessary. o Maintain proper bromine residual to prevent algae growth. o Check operation of automatic water leveler.
