Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. ACTIVATED CARBON SPECIAL: Quality – Special activated carbon prescribed in the treatment of drinking water – AWWA Standard B 600 shall be of low density. Packed into 2 bags of 50 pounds to each securely sealed carton. A certificate of quality shall be provided with every delivery. Approximate yearly total 10,000 lbs. 2. CHEMICAL HYDRATED LIME (bulk form): Quality – The Hydrated lime shall conform to AWWA Standard B202 (latest edition) and NSF standard 60. The material shall be in powdered form, shall contain no lumps, and shall be free from any foreign matter. The material shall be graded such that it does not impair the filter plants feed system or increase turbidity levels due to the products insolubility. The supplier shall provide all appropriate equipment needed to for the safe and efficient delivery of the product. The product shall be delivered to a 48-foot high storage silo through a feed located at the base of the silo. A certificate of quality shall be provided with every delivery. Approximate delivery rate of 45,000 lbs. per delivery. Approximate total for year 450,000 lbs. 3. CALCIUM HYPOCHLORITE: AWWA Standard B300, 65% granular packed in drums less than 100 pounds. Approximate total for year 1,000 lbs. 4. COPPER SULPHATE: AWWA Standard, B 602, large crystals only Delivery rate of 10,000 lbs. Approximate total for year 50,000 lbs. 5. HYDRO FLUOSILICIC ACID LIQUID: AWWB 703, 55 gal. drums; Liquid shall be 23% to 26% strength. When ordered, delivery rate shall be subject to the needs of the department.
