Specifications include, but are not limited to: The target population is families with children age birth to six years with significant risk of social/emotional or behavioral issues affecting functioning at home, in the community and/or child care and early childhood educational settings. A successful service will include: • Assessment: Provide a diagnostic assessment that includes observation at the child’s home and educational/care setting, treatment planning, and mental health interventions for children ages birth to six years, (including children transitioning to kindergarten) with social/emotional/behavioral challenges. • Mental Health Services: Provide in-home and early childhood therapy services which could include group therapy for children and CTSS services if the child has medical assistance. • Short Term Parenting Education: Offer parents / caregivers of Children for whom a diagnostic assessment does not result in a mental health diagnosis parent education sessions to provide coaching on how to address their chid’s challenging behaviors and improve parent/child attachment and interaction. The grant will cover a maximum of 6 sessions per client. • Resources and Support: Provide referrals to families to increase parent knowledge and utilization of community resources, address basic needs, and establish community connections. Referrals will utilize both formal and informal support networks. • Consultation & Coaching: Provide consultation and coaching to the referred child’s early childhood setting (school district programing, child care setting) as needed. • Parent Support: Provide support to parents/caregivers by providing individual or group skill-based and socialemotional learning opportunities. • Child Care Provider Training: Provide training and coaching to child care providers on infant-child mental health and attachment,that includes strategies to implement evidence-based interventions to support a child’s retention in the child care setting.
