Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) currently maintains eighty-six (86) radio towers in the statewide 800 MHz radio communications system. In order to support communication initiatives in the state, this contract secures the on-call professional services of the contractor to perform tower maintenance work on equipment. Contractor shall perform the services in their area of responsibility, as needed. Bidders can provide responses for maintenance of all towers, towers located only in the western half of Kansas, or towers located only in the eastern half of Kansas. The dividing line for towers will be Interstate 35 and US Highway 81. KDOT reserves the right to use any available contract at KDOT’s discretion to service microwave links on those towers that are interconnected between the east and west towers. This contract includes the equipment, labor, and incidentals necessary to provide tower maintenance services at various sites throughout the state. The towers range from 180’ to 480’ and are both Self Supporting and Guyed Structures. Contractor shall be on call 24/7 to provide tower work and or maintenance. Contractor may also be called to assist KDOT tower personnel as needed. KDOT will provide all durable goods used in the repair or installation. Contractor shall provide internet access to software 24/7 showing all work currently requested by the Kansas Department of Transportation, status of work completed or on-going, work orders issued, and technician close-out of job orders. Contractor’s software shall contain copies of documentation for work orders, repairs, and inspections on all tower sites for future reference.
