Contractor will provide the following healthcare services to Juvenile offenders who have been detained and are in custody of the court. Services include: A. Physician services provided by physicians and nurse practitioners designated by contracted medical facility. B. Comprehensive medical examination by physician is required within 7 days of admission to the facility when identified by a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN.) 1. This will include STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease) screening unless deemed unnecessary based on medical records. C. Treatment prescription, including referrals to specialists and other services as indicated. D. Follow-up services are performed on-site or arranged off-site as indicated. E. 24 hour per day triaging via phone by a Registered Nurse, with access to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital, medical facilities and other youth medical resources. Contractor will provide up to 4 hours of on-site clinic per week, that allows at least twice-weekly physician or Nurse Practitioner (LPN) calls to treat ongoing medical concerns. Additional hours will be provided as necessary. On-site health care will include cases which are triaged and prioritized by the LPN. • Care will be coordinated with the youth’s primary care provider should one be identified. • Contractor will be available for telehealth services when necessary and appropriate. • Acute injuries and illnesses will be managed daily, thus decreasing the number of off-site referrals. Communicable diseases such as HIV, Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Syphilis, HPV, Hepatitis B and C, Lice, Scabies and Herpes will be identified and treatment will begin, decreasing the spread of such diseases. • A physician or nurse practitioner will also be available via phone during the workday and after hours on-call service will be available when an LPN or physician are not on site.
