The Abeyta Pond consists of site grading approximately 10 acres of County-owned property for construction of a stormwater detention pond. This pond includes 70,780 CY of excavation and off-site haul plus an additional 11,400 CY of excavation to backfill on the project site. The property currently functions as a conveyance channel for the controlled release of stormwater from two high-hazard jurisdictional flood control structures known as Doña Ana North and Doña Ana South Dams, located on the east side of I-25. The property is equipped with an existing concrete hydraulic structure that releases site water into EBID infrastructure. This scope will include modifications to the existing structure to include removal of the existing concrete structure and installation of new concrete retaining wall and hydraulic structures. The stormwater infrastructure will be expected to remain functional throughout the course of construction. The scope will also include construction of new maintenance access roads throughout the site, installation of culverts, riprap rundowns, shotcrete and riprap lining, re-seeding, perimeter fencing, and installation of two pedestrian bridges (approximately 6’x65’ and 6’x30’). Project is located on the northwest side of the intersection at El Camino Real Rd and Doña Ana School Rd in Doña Ana, New Mexico.
