Specifications include, but are not limited to: The scope of this project will be to provide all the labor, materials, tools and equipment, insurance, and bonding necessary, but not limited to completing the Sandy City 2024 Overlay Project on 1300 E between 8600 S and 9400 S. The work includes a full mill and repave of the road surface. Also included are ADA pedestrian ramp retrofits, removal and replacement of curb and gutter, sidewalk, waterways, drive approaches and utility cover adjustments. Minor landscaping is also required. All these items are described further in the project plans and specifications. Concrete Complete all concrete work prior to beginning any milling or paving activities. Concrete work consists of the replacement of miscellaneous concrete items including, but not limited to curb and gutter, sidewalk, pedestrian ramps, drive approaches, and waterways. Once concrete is removed, it must be replaced within seven (7) calendar days, or the contractor must fill the area in with UTBC or an approved material until the concrete can be replaced. Work is detailed in the plans and specifications (refer to Sandy City standard drawings and details for concrete replacement). Landscaping The Contractor is to coordinate with homeowners/businesses before, during, and following construction activities as necessary. The Contractor is required to restore all work areas to “as-good-as” or “better-than” pre-existing conditions, and their bid should reflect any/all such work. Any damage to irrigation systems – sprinkler lines or heads - are to be repaired within 24 hours following the completion of concrete work. All remaining landscaping disturbed during construction is to be restored to pre-existing conditions within 72 hours following the completion of concrete work or as directed by the engineer. (All landscaping in areas owned by Sandy City must be inspected by a Sandy City Parks representative). Milling Mill the entire paved width of 1300 E between 8600 S to 9400 S. Start south of the intersection of 8600 S, continue through the intersection at Waters Lane (9000 S) and stop at the edge of the island on the north leg of 9400 S (SR209). Flaggers or off-duty police officers may be necessary to mitigate traffic when stopping at or passing thru the intersections. Perform milling according to construction plans. Perform end mills at the northern and southern ends on 1300 E. best efforts are to be made to make a straight line from lip of gutter to the lip of gutter on the opposite side of the street. Milling depth is to be 1 ½ inches below lip of gutter and waterways regardless of the existing asphalt height. Mill a depth of 2 inches at areas with end mills and adjacent to the median islands (concrete islands are to remain in place). Clean off any “left-over” bits of asphalt on and adjacent to the lip of gutter and waterways following milling to make a clean edge to pave against. Also clean the “left-over” bits from edges of any manhole collars or utility structures that cannot be lowered. Remove and replace any concrete damaged by roto-milling at no-cost to Sandy City.
