Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Demolition of the wall section between the liquid chemical unloading truck bay and the alum storage room. Installation of a new roll-up door at the wall opening. 2. Demolition of the existing sodium hydroxide tank and appurtenances within the alum storage room. Demolition of the associated chemical transfer, air, and vent piping. 3. Install a temporary sodium hydroxide system outside of the chemical building. Install new chemical transfer piping to connect the temporary sodium hydroxide system to the existing chemical distribution system. Utilize one of the new sodium hydroxide tanks (see 4 below) as the temporary tank. Remove the temporary system and reuse tank, valving, and instrumentation when the permananent tanks are installed inside the alum storage room. 4. Installation of two new sodium hydroxide bulk tanks and appurtenances within the alum storage room. Relocate the existing sodium hydroxide transfer pump and connection to the new chemical transfer piping. Construct a concrete containment structure for the tanks. Install a new access stairway. Provide new chemical offloading piping within the liquid chemical unloading truck bay.
