Surface preparation must remove all mortar skim coats and old coatings completely from all surfaces to be lined. Prepare surfaces and line all interior concrete surfaces of the chlorine contact basin. 2. Lining system to be terminated as shown on Detail Drawings in Part 4 of Specification Section 09 90 21. 3. Remove all handrail supports bolted to basin wall - mark and cover holes for bolts. Install coating system and then reinstall supports and handrails. 4. Do not install coating system on walkway slab across chlorine contact tank. Prepare it by 5,000 psi water blast cleaning to remove all dirt, algae, mildew, etc. leaving a clean substrate. Once dry, spray apply two coats of silane sealer to all four sides of it using product such as SLX100 by ProSoCo (OR ITS DEMONSTRATED EQUIVALENT). 5. Where coating system will terminate at bolts for gate frames or gate stem supports, roughen concrete around bolt or stud and apply coating system per specifications.
