Vault Pumping • Supply and use necessary equipment to remove debris and trash prior to pumping. • Pump waste from vault and wash down interior walls of vault. o A pressure washer system may be required to wash the side and end walls of the vault after pumping and may be necessary to dilute solidified waste in the bottom of a flat-bottomed vault and to wash the last portion of waste down a sloped bottomed vault. • Wash all waste deposited on the concrete surrounding vault covers back into vaults and wash vault covers. • Re-charge all vaults with fresh water after each pumping service is performed. o Supply fresh water to vaults at the following ratios: ▪ 1000 gallon vault - 100 gallons of water ▪ 750 gallon vault - 75 gallons of water • Thoroughly clean and disinfect all contaminated areas above vaults, vault covers and clean and disinfect both sides of toilet seat, and inside and outside of riser. • Close and lock exterior vault hatches. • Remove, bag and transport all trash and debris collected from vault and properly dispose of off-site. • Notify ODF’s Contract Administrator if any objects inside vaults are impractical to remove, vault hatches or locks are not in working order and if ODF provided locks are missing or lost. • Ensure each vault toilet unit is available for immediate use after pumping and final cleanup. Sewage Disposal • Contractor must be properly licensed and shall be responsible for making disposal arrangements, including disposal of all effluent, sewage, debris, and trash and payment of all fees.
