Specifications include, but are not limited to: a) Perform thorough evaluations of Safe Drinking Water Act, Subpart H surface water treatment plants to identify factors limiting their performance and compliance with EPA regulations. b) Analyze major unit processes, operational practices, and maintenance procedures. c) Use CPE special studies to evaluate and support optimization of unit processes, to modify plant process control activities, or to justify administrative or optimization strategies necessary to improve plant performance. Special studies should be a structured, systematic approach for assessing and documenting plant optimization activities. d) The CPE must be conducted in accordance with the following USEPA document: Optimizing Water Treatment Plant Performance Using the Composite Correction Program 1998 Edition. (EPA/625/6-91/027). August 1998. e) In addition to conducting Comprehensive Performance Evaluations at Subpart H systems, at the discretion of NMED, develop customized training events and training materials for NMED Drinking Water Bureau Staff or public water system personnel based on the EPA methodologies for conducting comprehensive performance evaluations. f) Provide on-site or virtual training sessions to NMED Drinking Water Bureau Staff or public water system personnel, covering interview strategies, evaluation techniques, data collection, analysis, and reporting. g) Incorporate practical exercises and case studies to enhance learning. h) Address queries and concerns to ensure effective knowledge transfer. i) Issue training completion certificates to participants.
