Specifications include, but are not limited to: 4.1. Treatment of Industrial Injuries 1. The successful offeror shall provide proper medical care and treatment to TUSD employees who come to their clinic(s) complaining of an industrial injury. The Contractor shall in each case promptly provide all care that is necessary and proper for the well-being of the patient, the intent being to enable the patient to return to work productively, without detriment to the patient’s health, at the earliest possible date. 2. Contractor will advise if they can provide a 24-hour clinic with seven-day-a-week medical service as well as 24-hour telephone service for professional medical advice in emergency situations and if so, how Contractor will provide these services. 3. In furnishing such medical care and treatment, the Contractor will adhere to the highest professional standards and will in all aspects comply with the applicable regulations of the Industrial Commission of Arizona and the laws of the State of Arizona and shall furnish all reports required therein. The District prefers that, at a minimum, the primary occupational medical physician and/or medical director be Board Certified for occupational medicine for the treatment of industrial injury claims. 4. For each patient treated, in addition to the Workers’ and Physician’s Injury Report (ICA-102), the physician shall make a report of the patient’s condition, diagnosis, and work status, and shall sign the report and forward to the TUSD Workers’ Compensation Office and a copy to the District’s Workers’ Compensation Carrier within three (3) working days. The physician will continue to provide timely reports of the patient’s medical progress to the TUSD Workers’ Compensation Office as well as providing the same reports with the patient’s billing invoice to the District’s Workers’ Compensation Carrier. 5. The doctor will classify each claim in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1904, Recording and Reporting Occupational Injury and Illnesses. The doctor will indicate on the work status whether the treatment being provided is recordable or non-recordable.
