Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Florence Electricity Department (“FED”) is deploying a new advanced metering infrastructure (“AMI”) system throughout its service territory in Florence, Alabama, and surrounding Lauderdale County. As part of this project, FED will require a contractor to remove the existing residential electric meters and replace them with new meters from the AMI vendor, Landis+Gyr/Tri-State Utility Products. FED will procure, supply, and store all of the meters. The contractor shall provide services, in addition to the physical exchange of the meters, to manage the installation process with FED and its customers, collect information including meter register reads, site photographs, and GPS coordinates, conduct all work according to industry best practice with regard to safety and professionalism, and provide complete documentation of each exchange in an electronic format that can be uploaded to FED’s CIS system. FED has approximately 48,800 residential electric customers. The AMI system is being deployed in two phases: Phase 1 has about 4,800 residential meters; Phase 2 has 44,000 residential meters.
