Key Requirements: Sound Lock Room - The sound lock room is designed to buffer audio sensitive zones from non-audio sensitive zones. The control room will serve as a buffer with a sound lock installed between the control room and the tracking room. Sound lock rooms must avoid proximity to any areas that are generally noisy, i.e., breakrooms, lobbies, restrooms, etc.. While the purpose of the sound lock room is to provide a sound barrier from one area to another, it also serves as a transitional space, and must be designed to efficiently accommodate the expected traffic flow, ensuring smooth and uninterrupted passage. One (1) sound lock room will be positioned as the access point to the studio area. While a singular (externa)l entrance may be sufficient, the transitional space must consist of 2 separate entrances; one to access the control room and one to access the mixing stage. One (1) sound lock room must be constructed between the control room and the tracking room. Control Room - The control room is where the Audio Engineer, Director and various other personnel will be located during recording sessions. A window must be included between the control room and the tracking room, allowing visibility of talent during (tracking) audio recording.
