Specifications include, but are not limited to: • Provide licensed, trained, professional, and uniformed security guard personnel equipped with firearms and identifiable patrol vehicles with lights visible for the district’s secondary campuses across Dona Ana and Otero, NM Jurisdictions as follows: o Gadsden High School o Gadsden Middle School o Desert Pride Academy/Alta Vista Early College High School o Chaparral High School o Chaparral Middle School • Contractor’s personnel are responsible for reviewing and knowing all emergency plans and procedures for the school building locations that they are assigned to and the other school buildings locations. • Contractor’s personnel are responsible for prioritizing and coordinating their duties with the building Principal/or Principal Designee or other designated District employee at assigned location. • Contractor’s personnel will follow the district/campus chain of command where contractors work closely with school administration and campus security team, however, contractor’s personnel will be supervised by both, the immediate campus level security supervisor and school administrator, and contractor field supervisor. • Contractor’s personnel are responsible for investigating intrusion and fire alarms at the building locations and after consultation with the building Principal/or Designee call 911 for emergency response as necessary during scheduled work hours. • Contractor’s personnel will be expected to establish professional rapport and communicate in a professional and pleasant manner with students, building staff and representatives from outside agencies, such as police and fire personnel. • Contractor’s personnel may be asked to participate in training exercises and activities regarding students and other school related issues as approved by Superintendent policy. Such personnel may also be required to become familiar with policies, procedures, laws, and regulations during working hours, as designated by Superintendent policy. • Contractor’s personnel will be expected to timely inform building administration of any violations of school board policy and student handbook rules, as well as any significant enforcement event or public safety threat. • Contractor’s personnel shall not become involved in administrative (school-related) searches unless specifically requested by authorized building administrator or designated district employee to provide security, protection or handling of weapons or contraband. To be clear, searches must only be performed in the direction and under the control of the school official AND the search requested greatly outweighs the safety and security of students, faculty, and staff AND when campus security personnel are unavailable to perform the search. • Contractor’s personnel and the building administrator should exchange information regarding any possible criminal activity that may have occurred on or around school grounds. This exchange of information shall be limited to that which directly relates to or contributes to the safety of the school environment. At no time shall Contractor’s personnel perform a search or request the administrator to perform a search for law enforcement purposes. All law enforcement interviews of students shall be limited to and performed in accordance with school board policies and New Mexico state school law. • Contractor’s personnel are responsible for performing any other related work as required by the Director of Safety & Security and/or building principal or other designated District employee in charge at assigned location. • Contractors must provide monthly billing for the exact hours of services provided each day at each school location.
