The City of Norwalk Department of Transportation, Mobility, and Parking (TMP) is seeking proposals for services to support the City’s Traffic Sign Inventory. The request for proposals is intended to collect an inventory of all traffic and other signage located alongside the roadway in the City. The inventory shall include all MUTCD signs and other non-MUTCD signage along the roadways utilizing a LIDAR, GIS/GPW, and/or other related system to accurately pinpoint the location of such signage within sub 3 feet of the true location of the sign. The City has about 257 center-line street miles. At the conclusion of the physical inventory, the vendor shall develop a comprehensive inventory database, in a GIS format, which will allow the City the ability to maintain a sign inventory into the future, manipulate the inventory, add signs, and delete existing signs. The vendor will also complete a report on the condition of current signage in the city, especially noting the number of signs that need to be immediately replaced/repaired.
