Specifications include, but are not limited to: In an effort to reduce truck congestion and improper queuing at the Port’s Granite City Harbor, the Port is pursuing construction of a truck staging and calling area. Grant funds in the amount of $5.5 million have been awarded to the Port for the construction of this facility. Two sites have been identified as preferred locations for the facility, but further analysis is required to select a single location. The selected team will be responsible for: ● Reviewing previously completed studies pertaining to the potential facility locations ● Completing preliminary engineering for the two preferred locations to determine capacity, traffic flows, and functionality during both peak and normal times of operation ● Evaluating how facility design would allow for integration of truck staging and calling technologies ● Providing a preliminary cost estimate for each alternative ● Upon selection of the preferred location, a final set of engineered design plans and specifications are to be developed along with an engineer’s cost estimate.
