Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Storm Inlet Replacement: The Contractor shall: - Verify all structure dimensions prior to ordering replacement structures. The information provided shall be considered approximate and for bidding purposes. - Reuse existing frames and grates unless otherwise specified. If a new frame or grate is needed, the City will provide this to the contractor. - Reconnect all existing pipes to the new inlet. Existing pipes shall be saw cut to provide a clean stable connection. The length of new pipe shall be a minimum of 2’ and may be up to 8’. - For those inlets where a sump is indicated, a sump shall be incorporated into the construction of the precast structure. The sump depth shall be 18” below the invert of the outflowing storm sewer. - Saw cut and remove existing curb and gutter. Removal shall be a minimum of 4’ either side of the inlet in order to allow for suitable joint placement with the installation of new curb. Where an existing joint is within 6’ of the existing inlet or the curb is identified for removal within 6’ of the existing inlet, the curb shall be removed to that point. Concrete curb and gutter replacement to be completed by the contractor - Saw cut and remove the existing pavement. Where pavement removal can be limited to no more than 2’ from the front of the inlet no pavement patching shall be required. In this case aggregate shall be placed and compacted to match the existing cross section up to the bottom of the inlet grate. Where the pavement removal extends more than 2’ beyond the face of the inlet a full depth pavement patch consistent with the existing pavement section shall be required. This pavement patch shall be in accordance with Detail #2 of this contract. 2. Storm Inlet Chimney Repair: The Contractor shall: - Reuse existing frames and grates unless otherwise specified. Removal and replacement shall be completed by the contractor, a minimum of 4’ either side of the inlet in order to allow for suitable joint placement with the installation of new curb. Where an existing joint is within 6’ of the existing inlet or the curb is identified for removal within 6’ of the existing inlet, the curb shall be removed to that point.
