Specifications include, but are not limited to: provide a Welding Technology and Fabrication lab that will allow one of the highest demand programs on campus to double its enrollment, while solving a host of logistical challenges. The total program space is 16,400 SF interior welding technology and fabrication building plus 3,600 SF of exterior auxiliary spaces is to be constructed south adjacent to the existing Barlow Building. This new structure will accommodate a total of 68 welding booths. The minimum allowed of welding spaces is 65 welding booths along with the required fabrication tools and machinery. In addition to the welding program, the building will also accommodate a classroom space, instructor offices, and associated spaces required for a standalone building.
