While not limited to the following, proposals should address various aspects of energy efficiency and sustainability. The City of Olathe has identified the installation of solar panels at the Indian Creek Library as a priority project. The scope of this project includes the integration of a shading system within the courtyard/stage area, aiming to promote sustainability, education, and community outreach. Proposals for this project are expected to encompass design, construction, and the incorporation of educational/outreach components focused on energy savings. The City of Olathe, Kansas is requesting qualified firms to submit a proposal for the purpose of assisting the City of Olathe in developing and implementing an energy-saving project that will pay for itself over time through the savings it generates. The City of Olathe wishes to implement a KSA 75-37, 125 program on a performance-based energy saving contract basis. Task #1 1. Priority project for the City is to implement solar panels at Indian Creek library, to include a shading system in the courtyard/stage area to promote sustainability, education, and community outreach. This proposal should include design, construction, implementation of educational/outreach information for energy savings, funding plans, cost/savings analysis. Task #2 1. It is the intent of this RFP to establish qualifications and fees for KSA 75-37, 125 services for the City of Olathe. The City of Olathe is interested in contracting for a full range of services as allowed by KSA 75-37, 125. 2. The City of Olathe is seeking a full range of services for the design and implementation of energy saving measures that include, but are not limited to the following: a. Design and specification of equipment and systems that include, but are not limited to: i. Lighting and electrical systems, that could potentially include street, parking lot, and exterior facilities lighting. ii. Mechanical and HVAC systems. iii. Building envelope, windows, doors, roofs, and insultation. iv. Controls and sensors. v. Alternative or renewable energy technologies. vi. Plumbing and water saving devices. vii. Any and all other energy and utility saving solutions. b. Financing programs such as loans, leases, rebates, grants, incentives, and other savings. i. Guaranteed cost. ii. Guaranteed savings. c. Procurement and installation of new energy-saving equipment. d. Project and construction management. e. System commissioning and training. f. Measurement and verification of energy savings.
